How did you hear about the Ambit Opportunity & what impressed you most?

I was introduced to Ambit by a dear friend, Dick McSally, who was working with me in another network marketing business. My previous business was a product based one. It was totally dependent on the economy. When the economy was good, more people bought my products. When the economy changed, people were not as willing to spend more money for my product when they could go to their local department store and purchase at a more reasonable price. I loved how this new industry of deregulated energy would not be dictated by the economy. It’s a service used by everyone we know. During that economic downturn, a lot of my product customers didn’t re-purchase my product, but every one of the paid their electric each and every month.

What is your “WHY” that keeps you focused and motivated the most?

I’m married to the most wonderful, kind, humble man, Joe Sherwood. During our life together we’ve faced some really challenging times. He underwent 9 1/2 hours of brain surgery in 1982 and I almost lost him. We were out of work, absolutely broke, had 3 daughters and lost our home in 1989. In 2007 he was laid off from his job and we were very near losing everything again. It took us three years to find another job and the one that came along was at a 40% pay cut and 90 minutes from our home. Last autumn he was offered another job in his higher earning bracket and it’s only 3 miles from our home. It seemed that the black cloud had lifted. Through it all we put our faith and family first but it took a toll on us emotionally. I never want my husband to be in that position again. That’s why we work so diligently on our Ambit business.

What do you see for yourself in your future, personally and professionally?

My future is very bright. I see us becoming National Consultants and being able to help so many others grow their businesses toward their financial freedom. We will be travelling to work with our teams throughout the Ambit foot print.

What was your single most-effective Success Tool, factor or influence for growing your business?

The most important factor that helped us grow our business was when I learned to get out of my own way and simply follow the plan. I’m not a very good follower. I like to be in the lead so it was difficult at first to just do what someone else told me to do and thus I didn’t grow as quickly as I would have liked. Just follow the plan, keep it simple and don’t say too much, it all comes together perfectly.

What advice do you have for new Consultants?

Well, as my husband likes to quote from a favorite movie of his, “Never Quit, Never Surrender.” Find a good mentor in the business, keep it simple, don’t say too much and use the tools provided. Ambit did not become a billion dollar company faster than any other without knowing a thing or two. Follow the plan.
